SERVICES
Insurance Survey
Sometimes called a Condition and Valuation (C&V) Survey. A detailed inspection, with a primary focus to assist the insurance carrier in determining risk, safety, Fair Market Value and replacement cost of the vessel. It includes compliance with boating standards set by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), as well as U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Code of Federal Regulations.
Pre-Purchase Marine Survey
This is the most comprehensive type of inspection of the vessel’s systems to ascertain its condition as to overall operational capability, valuation and must include mandatory U.S Coast Guard (USCG) Code of Federal Regulations, voluntary standards and recommended practices of the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) & National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This report includes:
- Inspection of all equipment and systems while the vessel is in the water (electrical systems, navigation systems, propulsion systems, fuel systems, all machinery and electronics).
- An out of water inspection, if arranged, of the rudders, props, shafts, thru-hulls, anodes, and a sounding of the hull.
- Complete inspection of interior structures where accessible.
- A Limited Trial Run focused on propulsion, steering, and, if a sailboat, sails and running rigging from deck level.
- Estimated Fair Market Value, Condition, and Replacement Value based on condition and general maintenance.
- Findings and recommendations.
Seller’s Survey
A seller’s survey is used to establish the sales price. Can be used as part of a negotiation. To create a worklist of repairs to be completed prior to placing the vessel on the market.
